DuMOL Chardonnay Wester Reach 2023 is a compelling expression of Russian River Valley Chardonnay, shaped by fruit from both valley-floor sites and cooler, elevated coastal areas. Makuprofiili
In the glass, the wine shows a poised, luminous character with aromas of white flowers, thyme, anise, ginger, and bright citrus. On the palate, layers of lime juice, white peach, hazelnut, and a subtle saline note of green olive create a focused and deeply textured profile. The wine is tight, resonant, and mineral-driven, with a sense of natural richness held in check by its vibrant acidity and fine structure. The finish is long and lively, leaving impressions of citrus oil and oyster shell. While it can be enjoyed now for its clarity and drive, it also has the balance and complexity to develop beautifully with short to medium-term cellaring.

Viininvalmistus
Wester Reach 2023 draws fruit from five vineyards: Flax Estate, El Diablo, Winners Circle, Cornerstone, and Charles Heintz. These sites span the Russian River Valley and contribute a layered expression of terroir, with fruit sourced from both warmer valley-floor locations and cooler, higher-elevation coastal-influenced areas. Harvest took place between September 14 and October 14, with grapes picked at full maturity during a long, cool, and even growing season. The wine is made from a selection of Chardonnay clones including Old Wente, Montrachet, Mt Eden, Robert Young, and #4, from vines averaging around 22 years of age at harvest. It was aged for 11 months in French oak, with 27% new barrels from Tonnellerie Remond, Chassin, and ACF, followed by an additional four months in tank to refine texture and preserve freshness. Production totaled approximately 4,600 cases.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This Chardonnay pairs beautifully with roasted poultry, butter-poached lobster, grilled scallops, crab, or creamy risotto with spring vegetables. Its mineral edge and citrus lift also make it a strong match for shellfish, sushi, or dishes finished with herbs and olive oil. Serve chilled, ideally around 10–12°C, and consider a brief decant only if serving very young to help the aromas open up.
