Elouan Pinot Noir 2021

Elouan Pinot Noir is a bold Oregon expression from Belle Glos, made entirely from Pinot Noir sourced across the Umpqua, Willamette, and Rogue Valleys. The name Elouan means “good light,” a fitting reference to the bright conditions that helped shape this intense, concentrated wine in the warm, dry 2016 vintage. Known for its depth and complexity, it offers a modern take on Oregon Pinot Noir with plenty of richness and character.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, Elouan shows a deep ruby-red color that hints at its generosity and power. The nose opens with layered aromas of plum tart, cherry, wild berries, and a subtle smoky game note, giving the wine an inviting mix of ripe fruit and savory nuance. On the palate, it is long, full-flavored, and intense, with clear notes of cherry, blackberry, boysenberry, and freshly smoked bacon. The wine’s structure and concentration suggest good aging potential, though it can also be enjoyed now for its immediate richness and expressive fruit.

Viininvalmistus
This wine brings together fruit from three of Oregon’s most distinctive growing areas, each contributing to the overall balance and complexity of the blend. The coastal influence and varied terroirs of Umpqua, Willamette, and Rogue Valleys provide the conditions Pinot Noir needs to develop its signature perfume and depth, while the warm, dry 2016 season delivered extra ripeness and intensity. The grapes were harvested from these selected sites and vinified to highlight concentration, dark fruit character, and the wine’s layered, smoky style.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
Elouan Pinot Noir pairs well with roasted duck, grilled salmon, mushroom dishes, pork tenderloin, and savory preparations with herbs or smoky elements. Serve slightly chilled, ideally around 14–16°C, and consider decanting for 20–30 minutes if drinking young to help the aromatics open up.

While the label is especially recognized for California Pinot Noir, Elouan showcases Wagner’s approach in Oregon, a region celebrated for its cool-climate potential and elegance. The project has gained attention for bringing together fruit from multiple valleys to create a Pinot Noir with both regional identity and broad appeal.
