Eulenloch Pinot Noir, Napa Valley 2020

Belle Glos Eulenloch Pinot Noir 2020 is a rich, polished Napa Valley expression from the cool Carneros district, where coastal breezes and clay soils help shape a wine with both depth and finesse. Made by Joe Wagner, it stands out for its generous fruit, supple texture, and impressive value compared with the winery’s direct price, making it an especially attractive buy for lovers of premium Californian Pinot Noir.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, it shows a deep ruby color that immediately hints at its concentration. The nose is vivid and layered, offering blackberry, red cherry, nutmeg, vanilla, toasted coconut, and violet. On the palate, it unfolds with plush, mouthfilling flavors of blackcurrant, strawberry, and red cherry, lifted by touches of pepper and vanilla. Despite its richness, the wine remains elegant and well balanced, with the structure to drink beautifully now and continue developing over the next five years.

Viininvalmistus
The Eulenloch Vineyard in Napa Valley’s Carneros region benefits from cool coastal winds, warm California sunshine, and clay-rich soils, creating ideal conditions for ripe yet balanced Pinot Noir. All the grapes were fully destemmed before pressing, and fermentation took place in a combination of open and closed stainless steel tanks, followed by 9 months in French oak barrels, 40% of which were new.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This Pinot Noir pairs naturally with roasted duck, grilled salmon, mushroom risotto, pork tenderloin, and earthy dishes with truffle or wild mushrooms. Serve at around 15-17°C, and while decanting is not essential, a short aeration can help bring out its aromatic depth if opening young.
