Failla Ferrington Vineyard Pinot Noir 2020 is a richly flavored yet beautifully composed Pinot Noir that balances depth with precision. Sourced entirely from the historic Ferrington Vineyard in Anderson Valley—one of the region’s standout sites, originally planted in the 1960s—it combines generous fruit, firm structure, and a distinctly elegant, age-worthy style.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, this Pinot Noir shows a vibrant, dark-fruited profile with impressive concentration. The nose opens with blackcurrant, blueberry, and a hint of rosewater, followed by layers of red and dark cherries, raspberry jam, cranberry, pomegranate, orange peel, cola, dark chocolate, vanilla, and subtle smoky oak. The palate is full of energy and depth, with juicy red and dark berry fruit wrapped around a structured frame and polished French oak influence. It feels youthful and expressive now, yet has the balance and complexity to develop gracefully over time. With age, the wine should gain more earthy, savory nuances while retaining its freshness and vivid fruit character.

Viininvalmistus
The grapes come exclusively from Ferrington Vineyard in Anderson Valley, a prized cool-climate site known for producing Pinot Noir with both richness and finesse. The vineyard’s older plantings and well-established vines contribute to the wine’s depth and character, while the region’s climate helps preserve freshness and structure. The wine is aged for 16 months in French oak barrels, 39% of which are new, adding spice, texture, and subtle savory complexity to the finished wine.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This Pinot Noir pairs especially well with roasted duck, grilled salmon, mushroom dishes, herb-crusted pork, and earthy vegetarian plates like truffle risotto or wild mushroom pasta. Serve it slightly cool, ideally around 15–17°C. Decanting for 30–45 minutes is recommended if drinking young, as it can help open up the wine’s aromatic range and soften the oak.

Failla has become an important name for Californian cool-climate wines, with fruit sourced from some of the state’s most respected vineyards.
