Failla Olivet Vineyard Chardonnay 2021 is a bright, elegant expression of Russian River Valley Chardonnay, made from fruit grown at Olivet Ranch in Santa Rosa. Biodynamically farmed and crafted with a restrained touch, it captures both freshness and complexity without masking the vineyard’s natural character. The vineyard also serves as Failla’s nursery for young vines, giving this site an added role in the winery’s broader story.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, this Chardonnay shows a pale lemon-yellow hue that hints at its freshness. The nose opens with notes of green and yellow apple, pineapple, lemon, elderflower, and white blossoms, creating a clean and inviting aromatic profile. On the palate, it leans toward a lighter, more linear style, with citrus and elderflower taking the lead in a beautifully balanced frame. There is no heavy oak presence here; instead, the wine feels precise, textured, and quietly expressive. It should drink beautifully now and has the structure to develop gracefully over the next few years.

Olivet Ranch sits in Santa Rosa at the heart of the Russian River Valley, a cool-climate area well suited to Chardonnay. The vineyard is farmed according to biodynamic principles, and the grapes are harvested and sorted by hand to preserve purity and quality. Winemaker Ehren Jordan ages the wine in a combination of French oak barrels and concrete, allowing the wine to gain texture and complexity while keeping the fruit-focused style intact.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This Chardonnay pairs well with roasted chicken, grilled fish, shellfish, creamy pasta, and vegetable dishes with fresh herbs. Serve chilled at around 10–12°C, and decanting is not necessary, though a short period in the glass will help the wine open up.
