Failla Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast 2022 is a polished, expressive New World Pinot Noir that showcases the cooler coastal side of California at its best. Crafted by Ehren Jordan, it balances generous fruit with lifted herbal and floral notes, offering a style that is both immediately appealing and distinctly terroir-driven.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, it shows a vibrant, inviting profile with bright red and dark berry tones at the core. The nose is layered with blackberry, wild raspberry, fresh herbs, red roses, and a subtle pastry note, giving it both freshness and complexity. On the palate, fresh blueberry and raspberry lead the way, followed by cherry liqueur, oregano, sage, and a delicate hint of white pepper and mint. The texture is smooth and seamless, with no hard edges and a long, supple finish. This is a wine that is already drinking beautifully now, with the structure to evolve gracefully over the next 6–7 years.

This Pinot Noir comes from Sonoma Coast, a cool-climate region shaped by ocean influence, which helps preserve freshness, acidity, and aromatic lift in the fruit. The grapes are selected with care from sites suited to producing elegant, energetic Pinot Noir, and the wine is made in a style that emphasizes purity, balance, and varietal character rather than heavy extraction.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
Serve at around 14–16°C to let the wine’s aromatics and fine texture come through. It pairs well with duck, roast chicken, mushroom dishes, grilled salmon, and herb-driven Mediterranean cuisine, but it is also supple enough to enjoy on its own. Decanting is optional; a brief decant can help open the wine in its youth, though it is not essential.

Failla Wines was founded in 1998 by Ehren Jordan and his wife Anne-Marie, after years of hands-on experience in the wine world. Jordan built his reputation through work in wine retail, cellar operations, and winemaking in both California and the Rhône, later earning acclaim for his time at Turley Wine Cellars before striking out on his own. Today, Failla is well regarded for its distinctive Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, and for a style that favors precision, freshness, and personality over trends.
