Forman Cabernet Sauvignon 2012 Magnum is a benchmark Napa Valley Cabernet from one of California’s true legends, Ric Forman. Made in a classic Bordeaux-inspired style from Forman Vineyard, it combines Cabernet Sauvignon with small amounts of Petit Verdot, Cabernet Franc, and Malbec for added depth, structure, and complexity. Makuprofiili
Deep, dark purple in the glass, this wine shows the richness and concentration you’d expect from a top-form Napa Cabernet. The nose opens with blackcurrant, sweet tobacco, leather, lavender, sage, cassis, and a subtle lift of eucalyptus, giving it both power and aromatic finesse. On the palate, it is layered and expansive, with flavors of blueberry, blackberry, truffle, forest floor, and a hint of anise. Vinous describes the 2012 vintage as soft, supple, and voluptuous, with mocha and spice notes wrapping around a silky finish. While already approachable, the magnum format and the wine’s natural structure suggest excellent aging potential for 25 years or more.

Viininvalmistus
The grapes are grown entirely on Forman Vineyard in Napa Valley, where Ric Forman favors a traditional, hands-on approach shaped by Bordeaux inspiration. Fruit is hand-harvested and sorted within 30 minutes of picking, ensuring only the best berries make it into the cellar. The wine then spends 20 months in new French oak, aged in deep underground cellars 10 levels below ground, which helps build texture, polish, and aromatic complexity.

This is a natural match for premium grilled or roasted beef, lamb, venison, duck breast, and dishes with mushrooms or truffle accents. It also pairs beautifully with aged hard cheeses and richly flavored sauces. Serve at 16–18°C and consider decanting for 1–2 hours if opening now, especially to let the wine’s aromas and structure fully unfold.
