Forman Cabernet Sauvignon 2013

Forman Cabernet Sauvignon 2013 is a flagship Napa Valley wine from one of California’s true legends, Ric Forman. Inspired by Bordeaux but unmistakably Californian in power and energy, it combines Cabernet Sauvignon with small amounts of Petit Verdot, Cabernet Franc, and Malbec for added depth and complexity. Crafted from fruit grown on Forman Vineyard and built in a classic, old-school style, this is a wine with real pedigree and serious aging potential.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, the wine shows a deep, dark purple colour that hints at its concentration. The nose is layered and expressive, with cassis, blackcurrant, sweet tobacco, leather, lavender, sage, and a subtle touch of eucalyptus. The palate is rich and focused, opening with flavours of blueberry, blackberry, truffle, forest floor, and a faint trace of anise. It has the structure, intensity, and freshness of a great Bordeaux-style Cabernet, but with a little more Californian drive and concentration. While already impressive, this wine has the backbone to evolve beautifully for many years and can comfortably age for 15 years or more, with the potential for even longer development in a good cellar.

Viininvalmistus
Forman Vineyard in Napa Valley provides the fruit for this wine, with a Bordeaux-inspired blend assembled in very small quantities. The grapes are harvested by hand and sorted within 30 minutes, ensuring only the best fruit enters production. The wine is then aged for 20 months in new French oak in Ric Forman’s deep underground cellars, about 10 levels below ground, a process that adds polish, structure, and aromatic complexity.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This Cabernet Sauvignon calls for equally serious food, such as grilled ribeye, roast lamb, braised short ribs, venison, or truffle-based dishes. It also works beautifully with aged hard cheeses and rich mushroom dishes. Serve at around 16–18°C, and decant for at least 1–2 hours if drinking young to allow the wine to fully раскры its aromas and structure.
