Forman Cabernet Sauvignon 2015

Forman Cabernet Sauvignon 2015 is Ric Forman’s flagship wine and a true Napa Valley classic, crafted only from the best fruit because, in this cellar, nothing less will do. Cabernet Sauvignon leads the blend, supported by small amounts of Petit Verdot, Cabernet Franc, and Malbec in a refined Bordeaux-inspired style that reflects both concentration and restraint.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, the wine shows a deep, dark purple core that hints at its richness and structure. The bouquet is layered and expressive, with blackcurrant, sweet tobacco, leather, lavender, sage, cassis, and a subtle thread of eucalyptus, all lifted by a polished, elegant frame. On the palate, it opens with blue and black fruit notes of blueberry and blackberry, followed by truffle, forest floor, and a delicate touch of anise. It is powerful yet finely judged, with the poise and precision of a great Bordeaux, but with a little more energy and Napa concentration. Already rewarding to drink, it has the depth and balance to evolve gracefully for another 25 years.

Viininvalmistus
The fruit comes from Forman Vineyard in California, where the grapes are harvested by hand and brought into sorting within 30 minutes to preserve freshness and quality. The wine is aged for 20 months in new French oak in Ric Forman’s deep underground cellars, 10 levels below the surface, contributing structure, spice, and refinement to the final blend.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This is a superb match for prime rib, grilled ribeye, braised short ribs, lamb rack, venison, or dishes with mushrooms and truffles. Serve at 16–18°C, and consider decanting for 1–2 hours if opening it young, as this will help the wine fully unfold its aromatics and polished tannins.
