Hartford Court Stone Cote Chardonnay 2019 is a striking Sonoma Coast Chardonnay with remarkable depth, precision, and character. Sourced from the highly regarded Stone Côte Vineyard within the Durrell Vineyard site, it stands out for its intensely concentrated fruit, mineral drive, and beautifully layered oak influence. The vineyard’s rocky soils and the wine’s extended élevage in French oak give it both power and finesse, making it a compelling example of premium California Chardonnay.

Makuprofiili
Pale gold in the glass, this Chardonnay opens with an expressive and elegant nose of white pear, lemon meringue, orange blossom, toasted almonds, honey, and crushed stone. With air, more nuanced aromas of hazelnut, vanilla, and flint emerge, adding complexity and a distinctly mineral edge. On the palate, it is richly textured yet finely balanced, showing glazed pear, stone fruit, nectarine, and subtle honeyed notes, all lifted by bright acidity and a long, saline-tinged finish. The French oak adds gentle spice and creaminess without overwhelming the fruit. This is a wine with excellent structure and the potential to age gracefully for several years, developing even more nutty, savory nuance over time.

Viininvalmistus
Stone Côte Vineyard is part of the respected Durrell Vineyard site in Sonoma Coast AVA, where the rocky subsoil forces vines to root deeply in search of water. This naturally limits yields and results in smaller clusters with exceptional concentration and flavor intensity. The 2019 vintage was vinified by Jeff Stewart and matured for 17 months in French oak, including 30% new barrels, which helped build texture, complexity, and a layered aromatic profile while preserving the wine’s mineral core.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This Chardonnay pairs beautifully with roast chicken, butter-poached lobster, grilled scallops, creamy pasta dishes, and mushroom risotto. It also works well with richer seafood preparations and aged cheeses. Serve it slightly chilled, ideally around 10–12°C, and consider a short decant if you want to open up its aromatic depth and oak nuances more quickly.
