Hasher Ernest Pinot Noir 2023 is a refined South African Pinot Noir that combines purity of fruit with a cool-climate sense of elegance. Its bright red berry profile, floral lift, and subtle earthy complexity make it a compelling expression of the grape, with enough structure to charm now and develop further with time.

In the glass, it shows a light ruby-red colour that signals freshness and finesse. The nose is expressive and layered, with red cherries, raspberries, and ripe cranberries, lifted by floral notes, gentle spice, and a discreet hint of forest floor that adds depth and nuance. On the palate, the wine is silky and elegant, with a clean fruit core and lively acidity that gives it precision and vibrancy. Flavours of red berries, subtle herbs, and a mineral edge carry through the finish, which is long, clear, and harmonious. Its balanced structure suggests it can be enjoyed now for its freshness, while also having the potential to gain additional complexity with short to medium-term ageing.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This Pinot Noir pairs beautifully with duck, roast chicken, grilled salmon, mushroom dishes, and lighter game such as quail or venison loin. It also works well with earthy vegetarian plates, especially those featuring root vegetables, lentils, or wild mushrooms. Serve slightly chilled at around 14–16°C; decanting is not essential, but a brief aeration can help the aromatics open up if the wine is served young.
