Heitz Wine Cellars Martha’s Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2010 is one of Napa Valley’s true benchmark wines, and a name that helped define what great American Cabernet could be. From the legendary Oakville site made famous by the 1976 Paris Tasting to its famously classic, ageworthy style, this is a wine that combines pedigree, precision, and a sense of history in every bottle.

In the glass, it shows a deep garnet-red hue, hinting at the concentration beneath. The nose opens with red and dark cherries, blackcurrant, clove, and the vineyard’s signature lift of mint and eucalyptus, with added layers of smoke and spice as it unfolds. The palate is deeply structured and intense, yet carried by a beautifully polished roundness that keeps everything in balance. Bright fruit, savory depth, and focused acidity give the wine energy and tension, while its firm frame suggests excellent aging potential. Viininvalmistus
Martha’s Vineyard sits in Oakville AVA, protected by the Mayacamas Mountains and planted on gravelly soils that are particularly well suited to Cabernet Sauvignon. The fruit is harvested with precision, then vinified in a traditionally minded style that emphasizes structure and purity: fermentation is followed by one year in neutral barrels, three years in 100% new French oak, and an additional year of bottle age before release.

This is a natural match for premium cuts of beef, roast lamb, venison, and dishes with earthy depth such as truffle risotto or wild mushroom preparations. Serve at around 16–18°C, and consider decanting for at least one to two hours to allow the wine to open fully and show its layered aromatics.
