Hubert Lignier Nuits-St-Georges Les Poisets 1er Cru 2014 is a finely crafted Burgundy that showcases the depth and precision the domaine is known for. Coming from old Pinot Noir vines in one of Nuits-St-Georges’ most characterful premier cru sites, it combines ripe red fruit, structure, and a polished, elegant texture. First made at the domaine in 2010, this cuvée reflects Hubert Lignier’s traditional approach to Burgundian winemaking with strong aging potential.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, this wine shows a bright, translucent ruby color typical of refined Pinot Noir. The nose is lifted and expressive, with strawberry, red berry compote, citrusy high notes, and a subtle earthy edge that adds complexity. On the palate, it opens with a silky, supple texture and well-integrated tannins, delivering layers of spiced red fruit, fine minerality, and a gently grainy finish. The balance is impressive, with enough structure to develop beautifully over time. While already charming, it should continue to gain nuance and harmony with bottle age.

Viininvalmistus
The Les Poisets site in Nuits-St-Georges brings the kind of depth and site expression that Burgundy collectors value, and the vines here were planted in the 1950s, contributing concentration and complexity. The vineyard is often affected by millerandage, which naturally reduces yield and can enhance the intensity of the fruit. Hubert Lignier is known for traditional, low-intervention winemaking, with no pesticides or herbicides used in the vineyard, allowing the character of the terroir to come through clearly in the finished wine.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This Pinot Noir pairs beautifully with duck breast, roast quail, mushroom risotto, game birds, or earthy dishes such as truffle pasta and lentils. Serve slightly cool, ideally around 16–18°C, to let the aromatics and texture show at their best. Decanting for 30–60 minutes is recommended if opened young, though it can also be enjoyed straight from the bottle for a more delicate expression.

Hubert Lignier is a family domaine with roots dating back to 1880, when Jacques Lignier acquired vines in Morey-St-Denis in the heart of the Côte de Nuits. Today, the estate is run by Hubert Lignier and his son Laurent, producing a respected range of wines from Bourgogne to grand cru across around nine hectares. The domaine is especially admired for wines of depth, structure, and longevity, and has earned a strong reputation for expressing the character of each vineyard with clarity and finesse.
