Hudson Vineyards Chardonnay Little Bit 2022

Hudson Vineyards Chardonnay Little Bit 2022 is a standout barrel selection from Napa Valley, and despite being only its second vintage, it is already performing at an impressively high level. Sourced from the distinct Little Bit vineyard site and crafted with a meticulous approach, it offers a Chardonnay of real character, depth, and precision that highlights just how far Napa can push the style.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, this Chardonnay shows a rich, polished appearance that hints at its generous texture. The nose is immediately engaging, with aromas of ripe apricots, green guava, lime, melted butter, popcorn, honey, and a touch of marzipan. On the palate, it is full-bodied and intensely layered, unfolding with grape, vanilla, apple, caramel, and brioche notes, all carried by a long finish with a distinct saline minerality. The wine already feels complete and expressive, but its concentration, oak structure, and vibrant balance suggest it should age beautifully for several years.

Viininvalmistus
The grapes come from Little Bit, a vineyard site located in a different area from Hudson’s other new barrel selection, Ladybug, giving the wine its own identity and vineyard expression. The fruit is whole-cluster pressed, then aged for 23 months on lees in French oak barrels, 80% of which were new, lending the wine its creamy texture, layered complexity, and refined oak influence.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This Chardonnay pairs beautifully with rich seafood dishes such as lobster, scallops, or roast turbot, as well as roast chicken, creamy pasta, and dishes with butter, truffle, or subtle spice. Serve it slightly chilled, around 10–12°C, and consider a short decant if drinking young to help the aromatics open up more fully.
