Inglenook Rubicon 2017

Inglenook Rubicon 2017 is one of Napa Valley’s great flagship wines, crafted from the estate’s finest vineyard parcels in Rutherford. First introduced in 1978, Rubicon helped restore Inglenook’s reputation as a benchmark producer of world-class Bordeaux-style wines, combining elegance, concentration, and impressive aging potential.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, the wine shows a deep purple-black hue that signals richness and depth. The nose is wonderfully expressive, with aromas of red roses, cherry pie, black raspberries, blackberry compote, and accents of black tea, incense, cinnamon, and earth. On the palate, it is medium-bodied and tightly structured, with grainy tannins and layered flavors of dark fruit, florals, and subtle earthy spice. The finish is long and perfumed, with a refined balance that suggests excellent cellaring potential over many years.

Sourced from Inglenook’s best plots in Rutherford, the Rubicon reflects the estate’s exceptional terroir, where Napa Valley’s warm days and cool evenings help develop ripe fruit character and freshness. Only the top selections are used, with careful harvesting from the finest vineyard blocks to preserve quality and site expression. The wine is produced in a Bordeaux-inspired style, with a blend centered on Cabernet Sauvignon and supported by Merlot and Cabernet Franc, giving the final wine both structure and aromatic complexity.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This is a wine for richly flavored dishes such as beef tenderloin, roasted lamb, game, truffle pasta, or aged hard cheeses. Serve at around 16–18°C for the best expression, and consider decanting for 1–2 hours, especially if opening it young, to allow the bouquet and tannins to fully open.

Inglenook Estate dates back to 1879, when Finnish sea captain and wine enthusiast Gustave Niebaum founded the winery in Rutherford with the aim of creating wines to rival the great estates of Europe. Today the historic property is owned by Francis Ford Coppola and remains one of Napa Valley’s most iconic names, celebrated for its role in shaping the region’s fine-wine identity and for producing some of its most admired Cabernet-based wines.
