Jean-Michel Gaunoux Meursault 1er Cru Les Perrières 2021 is a beautifully focused expression of one of Meursault’s most revered lieux-dits. In a cool, classic vintage, it captures the site’s signature mineral drive and precision, offering a taut, terroir-led style rather than broad richness. Les Perrières has long been regarded as one of the great Premier Cru vineyards of Meursault, prized for its stony, chiselled character.

Makuprofiili
Pale gold in the glass, this 2021 shows the restrained elegance expected from a cool Burgundy vintage. The nose is lifted and mineral, with notes of citrus, chalk dust, white flowers, and a subtle hint of toasted hazelnut. On the palate, the wine is straight, vivid, and finely etched, with a cool, almost flinty texture and a long, saline finish. It has the structure and energy to age gracefully over many years, gradually gaining depth and complexity while retaining its defining freshness.

Viininvalmistus
The grapes are hand-harvested from the limestone-rich soils of Les Perrières, a terroir known for producing particularly linear and mineral Meursault. Vinification is carried out gently, with spontaneous fermentation and ageing in around 30% new oak. No bâtonnage is used, and the wine is bottled without fining or filtration to preserve its purity, energy, and sense of place.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This wine pairs especially well with fine seafood, lobster, turbot, scallops, roast poultry, and dishes with creamy sauces or mushroom accents. Serve at 10–12°C to best show its precision and aromatic detail. Decanting is optional for young bottles, though a short decant can help open the wine’s tightly wound structure.
