Kistler Les Noisetiers Chardonnay 2023 is a benchmark expression of the house style, showing why Kistler has long been revered for Chardonnay that balances richness with razor-sharp precision. Drawn from top sites in western Sonoma and shaped by a distinctly Burgundian approach to vinification, it offers a rare combination of power, elegance, and mineral drive. It is a wine with both pedigree and presence, reflecting the cool-climate influence of Sonoma Coast while remaining unmistakably Californian.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, the 2023 vintage shows a luminous, polished pale gold colour. The nose is layered and refined, with aromas of lemon oil, white peach, toasted hazelnut, brioche, flint, and a subtle saline edge that adds freshness and lift. The palate is concentrated yet graceful, with ripe citrus and stone fruit framed by vibrant acidity and a supple, creamy texture. Notes of citrus zest, lightly toasted oak, and chalky minerality carry through a long, cool finish. While delicious now for its energy and balance, it has the structure and depth to develop beautifully over the next several years.

Viininvalmistus
Les Noisetiers is sourced from three of Kistler’s own vineyards in western Sonoma, mainly in the fog-influenced area between Sebastopol and Occidental. The vines are planted to Kistler’s heritage Chardonnay clone and cultivated for low yields and maximum expression of site. Harvested with precision, the grapes are spontaneously fermented in French oak barrels, with bâtonnage and malolactic fermentation adding texture and complexity, followed by up to a year of ageing in mostly new and once-used barrels.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This Chardonnay pairs beautifully with rich seafood dishes such as lobster, scallops, or roasted turbot, as well as poultry, creamy risotto, and fine mushroom preparations. Serve lightly chilled at around 10–12°C. Decanting is not essential, but a short period in the glass can help the wine раскры its aromatics and texture.
