Kongsgaard Syrah 2020

Kongsgaard Syrah 2020 is a remarkable expression of Napa Valley Syrah, crafted by John and Alex Kongsgaard and widely regarded as one of the region’s finest. Sourced from their parcel in the famed Hudson Vineyard in Carneros, this is a wine of serious depth, precision, and intensity, with a pedigree that has earned praise from both critics and collectors. Makuprofiili
The wine pours an inky, near-black color, setting the stage for a deeply concentrated Syrah. The nose is powerful and layered, opening with blackcurrant, blackberry, blood orange, black pepper, smoked meat, licorice, tar, and dark earth, all woven together with impressive intensity. On the palate, those dark fruit and savory smoked-meat notes take center stage, supported by dried Provençal herbs and a long, persistent finish. Structured and majestic now, it also has the concentration and balance to age beautifully for at least 20 years.

Viininvalmistus
The grapes come from Kongsgaard’s parcel at Hudson Vineyard in Carneros, a cool-climate site in Napa Valley known for producing Syrah with both power and freshness. Kongsgaard has worked this parcel for more than two decades, steadily refining the quality and character of the wine.
