Kosta Browne Santa Rita Hills Pinot Noir 2021 is a refined and expressive cool-climate Pinot Noir sourced from six of Santa Rita Hills’ most respected vineyards, including Bentrock, Mt. Carmel, and John Sebastiano. Crafted with a thoughtful mix of whole-cluster fermentation and careful élevage in French and Austrian oak, it captures both precision and depth in a style that has made Kosta Browne one of California’s most admired Pinot Noir producers.

In the glass, it shows a beautiful ruby-red color that hints at its freshness and energy. The nose is layered with ripe strawberry, raspberry, cranberry, tea leaves, basil, and rose petals, giving it an aromatic profile that feels both lifted and complex. The palate mirrors the bouquet with lively red fruit and a bright, elegant freshness, carried by a long and vibrant finish that invites another sip. It is approachable now for its purity and balance, but it also has the structure and nuance to develop further with a few years of careful cellaring.

Viininvalmistus
The grapes come from six top Santa Rita Hills sites, a region known for its cool Pacific influence, morning fog, and marine-driven climate that help preserve acidity and aromatic detail in Pinot Noir. After harvest and hand sorting, winemaker Julien Howsepian keeps around 10% of the fruit as whole clusters, while the rest is destemmed. Fermentation takes place mainly in open stainless steel tanks, with a little over 20% fermented in oak, followed by 14 months of aging in a combination of French and Austrian oak barrels, 17% of which are new.

This Pinot Noir pairs beautifully with roast duck, mushroom risotto, herb-roasted chicken, salmon, or dishes with earthy, savory flavors that echo its aromatic complexity. Serve it slightly cool, ideally around 14–16°C, and consider a brief decant if opening it young to let the wine fully раскры its perfume and texture.
