Kosta Browne Santa Rita Hills Pinot Noir 2022 is a beautifully refined expression of one of California’s most admired Pinot Noir regions. Sourced from six top vineyards, including Bentrock, Mt. Carmel and John Sebastiano, it combines precision, elegance and depth in a style that highlights both site character and the winery’s meticulous craftsmanship. Kosta Browne has built a strong reputation for producing high-end Pinot Noir with a distinctly polished, expressive profile.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, the wine shows a vivid ruby-red hue, setting the stage for a fragrant and finely layered aromatics profile. The nose opens with ripe strawberry, raspberry and cranberry, lifted by tea leaf, basil and delicate rose petal notes. The palate is fresh and precise, echoing the red berry and herbal-floral character found on the nose, while the wine’s silky texture and vibrant acidity give it real energy. The finish is long, lively and inviting, making this a Pinot Noir that will be highly enjoyable on release yet should also gain nuance with a few years of cellaring.

Viininvalmistus
The grapes come from six top vineyards across Santa Rita Hills, a cool coastal California appellation known for producing Pinot Noir with bright acidity, tension and aromatic complexity. After hand-harvesting and careful sorting, winemaker Julien Howsepian retains 10% whole clusters for fermentation, while the rest is destemmed. Most of the wine ferments in open-top stainless steel tanks, with just over 20% fermented in wood, before aging for 14 months in a combination of French and Austrian oak, including 17% new barrels.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This Pinot Noir pairs beautifully with roast duck, mushroom risotto, salmon, grilled chicken and herb-driven dishes, as well as earthy vegetarian plates. Serve it slightly chilled, ideally around 14–16°C, and consider a short decant if opening young, though it does not require extended aeration.
