Krug Clos d'Ambonnay 2006 is one of Champagne’s rarest and most coveted expressions: a single-vineyard prestige cuvée made entirely from Pinot Noir grown in the tiny Clos d’Ambonnay, just 0.68 hectares in the heart of Champagne. Produced in extremely limited quantities from the outstanding 2006 harvest, it captures both the richness of the vintage and the singular character of this historic walled vineyard.

In the glass, it shows a deep golden hue with a luminous, refined bead. The bouquet is intensely layered, moving from ripe red berries and citrus zest to honey, brioche, toasted notes, and a subtle mineral edge. On the palate, Clos d’Ambonnay 2006 is full-bodied yet impeccably poised, combining concentrated fruit with elegant freshness and a long, resonant finish. The texture is creamy and vinous, with remarkable depth and structure that suggest excellent aging potential; while already impressive, it will continue to evolve beautifully over time, gaining further complexity and nuance.

Viininvalmistus
Clos d’Ambonnay is a tiny, perfectly enclosed vineyard in Ambonnay, one of Champagne’s most celebrated Pinot Noir villages, where chalky soils and a favorable exposition help produce grapes of exceptional concentration and finesse. The grapes are harvested by hand and vinified with meticulous precision at Krug, where each step is designed to preserve the purity and individuality of the parcel. The result is a single-vineyard Champagne that reflects both the terroir of this extraordinary clos and the character of the 2006 vintage.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
Best served at around 10–12°C, ideally in a large white-wine or tulip-shaped Champagne glass to let its complexity unfold. It pairs beautifully with premium dishes such as lobster, langoustine, foie gras, truffle risotto, roast poultry, or delicate mushroom-based cuisine. Decanting is not essential, but a brief aeration in the glass can help reveal its layered aromatic profile.
