L’Aventure Cuvee Estate 2019

L’Aventure Estate Cuvée 2019 is a standout Paso Robles red that brings together the power of California with the finesse of a serious Bordeaux-Rhône-inspired blend. Crafted by Stephan Asseo, it’s a bold, layered wine built from sustainably farmed Willow Creek fruit and matured with an unapologetically luxurious use of new French oak. This is a wine with real pedigree and presence, backed by critical acclaim and the kind of depth that makes it one of the most compelling wines in L’Aventure’s portfolio.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, the wine shows a deep ruby core, hinting at its concentration and richness. The nose opens with cassis, blackcurrant, blueberry and blackberry, followed by notes of plum, violet, dark chocolate, graphite and a subtle tarry edge that adds complexity and lift. On the palate, it is full-bodied and generous, with ripe dark fruit at the center, balanced by fresh acidity and firm, building tannins. The texture is powerful yet refined, with a long, intense finish that lingers beautifully. While already impressive, this wine has excellent aging potential and should continue to evolve gracefully for 15–20 years.

Viininvalmistus
The grapes come from sustainably farmed vineyards in Willow Creek, one of Paso Robles’ most respected subregions, where limestone-rich soils and cooling maritime influences help preserve freshness and structure. Stephan Asseo blends fruit from classic Bordeaux and Rhône varieties to create his signature style, then ages the wine for 15 months in French oak barrels, with 81% new oak lending polish, spice and depth to the final blend.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This wine is a natural partner for grilled ribeye, braised short ribs, lamb with herbs, venison, or richly flavored dishes featuring mushrooms and black garlic. Serve it at around 16–18°C, and decant for at least 1–2 hours if drinking young to help the wine open fully and soften its structure.
