Le Serre Nuove dell'Ornellaia 2021 is the estate’s celebrated second wine, crafted from the youngest vines and only the most exceptional fruit of the vintage. A polished Tuscan red with Bordeaux-inspired complexity, it offers the refinement and pedigree of Ornellaia in a more approachable style, with a blend that shifts from year to year to reflect the character of the harvest.

Makuprofiili
Deep ruby in the glass, this wine opens with an inviting bouquet of sweet dark berries, cassis, cedar, and a subtle leather note. The aromatics are elegant rather than forceful, with a sense of freshness that carries through beautifully. On the palate, it is medium to full-bodied, balanced, and silky, with soft tannins, refined mineral tones, and vibrant, polished fruit. The finish is long and composed, showing both structure and finesse. While already highly enjoyable, it has the concentration and balance to develop gracefully over the coming years.

Viininvalmistus
Le Serre Nuove dell'Ornellaia comes from Bolgheri in coastal Tuscany, where the estate’s carefully selected vineyards benefit from a warm maritime climate and mineral-rich soils that suit Bordeaux varieties exceptionally well. The grapes are hand-harvested and sorted, then gently crushed and undergo a long maceration on the skins. The wine matures in barriques, with 25% new oak, for 12 months before the final blend is assembled and returned to barrel for a further 3 months, followed by 6 months in bottle before release.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This is an excellent match for grilled lamb, roast beef, braised short ribs, game birds, and rich mushroom dishes. It also pairs well with aged cheeses and Tuscan-style cuisine. Serve at 16-18°C, and decanting for about an hour is recommended to let the wine fully open.

Ornellaia was founded in the 1980s by Ludovico Antinori in the prestigious Bolgheri area, alongside some of Tuscany’s most famous vineyard sites. With guidance from André Tchelistcheff in the early years and later the renowned Michel Rolland, the estate has become a benchmark for modern Italian winemaking.
