Louis Roederer Brut Nature Philippe Starck 2012 is a strikingly pure expression of Champagne, shaped by exceptional terroir and crafted with no dosage to let the vintage speak clearly. Born from Roederer’s search for parcels that thrive in warmth and dryness, this cuvée combines biodynamic farming, restrained winemaking, and the minimalist vision of Philippe Starck. It reflects a modern chapter in Champagne history, where precision, transparency, and site expression take center stage.
Makuprofiili
In the glass, it shows a brilliant golden hue with a fine, persistent mousse. The nose opens with lifted aromas of wild flowers, citrus, ripe stone fruit such as peach, and a subtle layer of toasted nuts, giving the wine both freshness and depth.
On the palate, it is elegant yet structured, with a harmonious balance between chalky minerality, vibrant acidity, and ripe fruit concentration. Notes of spice and citrus linger through the long, dry finish, making this a Champagne that feels both precise and layered. It has strong aging potential thanks to its structure and freshness, and will continue to evolve beautifully over time.
Viininvalmistus
The Brut Nature style was originally developed after the challenging 2003 vintage, when Roederer identified chalk-rich vineyards around Épernay, including Cumières, Hautvillers, and Vertus, that showed remarkable resilience in heat and drought. For the 2012 vintage, these biodynamically farmed parcels once again delivered fruit with remarkable aromatic intensity, balance, and natural acidity. The wine is vinified with about 25% barrel fermentation and the rest in stainless steel, without malolactic fermentation, then aged on lees for five years in bottle before disgorgement. No dosage is added, preserving the wine’s raw, terroir-driven character.
Ruoka & tarjoilu
This Champagne pairs beautifully with oysters, sashimi, grilled shellfish, ceviche, or delicate white fish, as well as dishes with subtle creaminess or nutty accents. Serve well chilled at around 8–10°C to best highlight its tension and finesse. Decanting is not usually necessary, but a few minutes in the glass can help the wine open and reveal more of its layered complexity.
