Marchesi di Gresy Barbaresco Martinenga 2019 is a beautifully refined expression of Nebbiolo from one of Barbaresco’s most celebrated single vineyards. Sourced from the historic Martinenga MGA, this wine stands out for its elegance, precision, and the distinctive character of soils rich in limestone and marl.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, it shows a pale garnet-red color, typical of great Nebbiolo. The bouquet is layered and inviting, with notes of plum, cherry, balsamic nuance, mint, tea, dried flowers, and tobacco leaf. On the palate, the wine is remarkably elegant and finely balanced, with fruit held in perfect harmony by freshness and structure. A cool, lightly mentholated finish adds lift and length. While already compelling now, it has the structure and pedigree to age gracefully for many years, developing greater complexity over time.

Viininvalmistus
Martinenga is a 12-hectare MGA in Barbaresco, benefiting from a highly distinctive terroir marked by limestone and marl-rich soils. The vineyards are organically and sustainably farmed and harvested by hand to ensure only the best fruit is selected. After fermentation, the wine is aged for 12 months in small French oak barrels, followed by another 12 months in Slovenian oak casks, before further bottle maturation under the care of winemaker Matteo Sasso.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This Barbaresco is an excellent match for truffle dishes, roasted game, braised veal, mushroom risotto, and aged hard cheeses. Serve at 16–18°C for the best expression of its aromatics and structure. Decanting for 1–2 hours is recommended, especially if drinking in its youth.
