Maresh Vineyard Pinot Noir 2021 Magnum is a remarkably pure expression of Oregon Pinot Noir, shaped by Jim Maresh’s unwavering focus on elegance, finesse, and site transparency. With just 13% alcohol and fruit from vines planted in the early 1970s, it offers a beautifully restrained, high-quality take on one of Oregon’s most historic vineyard sites.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, this Pinot Noir shows a vibrant, luminous red profile typical of a finely drawn Oregon wine. The nose opens with strawberry jam, rhubarb, cranberry sauce, warm earth, black licorice, and a touch of exotic spice, creating a layered and inviting aromatic profile. The palate is driven by sun-ripened red cherries, strawberries, and rhubarb jam, complemented by dried violets, licorice, and savory spice. It finishes with impressive length and persistence, making this a wine to enjoy slowly. While already highly expressive, it should also reward cellaring over the next several years as its earthy and floral nuances continue to unfold.

Viininvalmistus
The grapes come from Maresh Vineyards in Oregon, where old vines planted in the early 1970s contribute depth, concentration, and a clear sense of place. The 2021 growing season delivered limited yields, but the fruit quality was excellent, resulting in a wine with intensity, balance, and precision. The winemaking appears focused on preserving delicacy and purity rather than forcing extraction, in line with Jim Maresh’s elegant style.

This Pinot Noir pairs beautifully with roast duck, mushroom dishes, grilled salmon, pork tenderloin, and earthy vegetarian plates such as lentil or beet-based dishes. Serve slightly chilled, ideally around 14–16°C, and consider a gentle decant if opened young to help the aromatics unfold and soften the wine’s structure.
