Masseto Massetino 2021

Masseto Massetino 2021 is a polished and expressive Tuscan red that captures the elegance of Merlot from one of Italy’s most renowned estates. Built around purity of fruit, finely etched structure, and a distinctly mineral edge, it reflects the harmony and aromatic clarity of a strong vintage while offering the unmistakable signature of Masseto.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, Massetino 2021 shows a deep, vibrant ruby color. The nose is generous and layered, opening with ripe cherry, blackberry, blue plum, and wild blueberry, followed by floral violet notes, herbs, graphite, dark cocoa, and a subtle touch of oak. The palate is full, smooth, and beautifully balanced by fresh acidity. Dark berry fruit is supported by round, mature tannins and a refined mineral backbone, giving the wine depth without losing its sense of lift. The finish is long and elegant, marked by spice and freshness, and the wine has the structure to age gracefully for 8–12 years.

Viininvalmistus
The 2021 vintage benefited from a wet winter that replenished water reserves, followed by a steady spring, a warm but not extreme summer, and cool late-summer nights that preserved freshness and encouraged slow, even ripening on Masseto’s blue clay hillside. Each parcel was vinified separately to preserve the nuances of the terroir. Fermentation took place in concrete tanks with gentle extraction, followed by malolactic fermentation in barriques. The wine then aged for 12 months in barrel, with a balanced proportion of new oak, before spending a short period in concrete ahead of bottling.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
Massetino 2021 pairs naturally with roasted lamb, beef tenderloin, game birds, truffle pasta, and rich mushroom dishes. Serve at 16–18°C to allow the aromatics and texture to open fully. Decanting for 1–2 hours is recommended if drinking young, though it can also be enjoyed straight from the bottle for a more immediate expression.
