Masseto Massetino 2022

Masseto Massetino 2022 is a refined and more approachable expression of one of Tuscany’s most iconic names, crafted to capture the power, depth, and elegance associated with the Masseto estate. Made primarily from Merlot with a touch of Cabernet Franc, it reflects the warm intensity of the 2022 vintage in Bolgheri while retaining the precision, freshness, and distinctive blue-clay character that have made the estate legendary.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, the wine shows a deep, vivid ruby color. The nose is generous and layered, opening with dark berries, blue fruits, violet, spice, and a hint of cocoa, all lifted by a subtle mineral edge that adds brightness and definition. The palate is rich and supple, with ripe, juicy fruit and a creamy texture carried by polished, well-integrated tannins. Despite its depth and concentration, the wine remains precise and energetic thanks to lively acidity, finishing long and elegant with lingering red and dark fruit notes. While very enjoyable now for its immediate charm, it also has the structure to develop greater complexity over the next few years.

Viininvalmistus
The 2022 growing season in Bolgheri was marked by a cool, dry winter, a stable spring, and a long summer drought that was balanced by periodic rains and cool September nights, helping the grapes ripen harmoniously while preserving freshness and aromatic complexity. Harvest took place parcel by parcel from early September to early October, with each block picked at optimal maturity. In the cellar, the grapes were vinified separately in concrete tanks with gentle extraction, followed by malolactic fermentation in barriques, half of them new. The wine then aged for 12 months in oak before a final rest in concrete prior to release.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This wine pairs beautifully with premium dishes such as grilled or roasted beef, lamb, duck breast, truffle-infused pasta, mushroom risotto, or aged hard cheeses. Serve at 16–18°C for the best balance of fruit, structure, and aromatic lift. Decanting for about 1–2 hours is recommended if drinking young, especially to let the wine open up fully and show its layered texture.
