Ojai Vineyard Syrah Roll Ranch 2015 is a finely made California Syrah that balances generous fruit with real structure and poise. Coming from a site just outside Ojai and enhanced with a small touch of Viognier, it shows the kind of layered, site-driven character that has made Ojai Vineyard a benchmark producer in Santa Barbara County. The warm 2015 vintage brings extra intensity, while the wine’s cool-climate origin keeps it focused and expressive.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, this Syrah is deep and насыщенный in color, with a dense, youthful appearance that hints at its concentration. The nose opens with dark cherry, plum, apricot, lavender, blueberries, ground pepper, and leafy herbs, gradually moving toward more savory notes of mocha, allspice, and sage. On the palate, it is medium to full-bodied with a silky texture, firm tannins, and excellent balance. The fruit is rich and ripe, but the wine finishes with spice, herb, and a grip that gives it real length and aging potential. It is enjoyable now, yet has the structure to develop further complexity over time.

Roll Ranch lies just outside Ojai in Santa Barbara County, where cooler conditions help preserve freshness and emphasize varietal character. The 2015 vintage was notably warm, which brought riper fruit and greater intensity to the wine. This Syrah is blended predominantly from Syrah with 2% Viognier and aged for 16 months in French oak, including 13% new oak, with a vinification approach aimed at preserving purity, texture, and balance.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This Syrah pairs beautifully with grilled lamb, roasted duck, pepper-crusted beef, game meats, or dishes with earthy herbs such as rosemary and sage. It also works well with mushroom-based cuisine and hard aged cheeses. Serve it slightly below room temperature, ideally around 16–18°C, and consider decanting for 30–60 minutes if drinking now to allow the aromatics and structure to open up fully.

Ojai Vineyard was founded by Adam Tolmach, a UC Davis graduate who began producing wine in the early 1980s after planting vineyards in Ojai and pursuing his own vision of expressive, site-focused winemaking. Over the decades, Tolmach has become one of the most respected voices in Santa Barbara County, known for his commitment to cool-climate vineyard sources, low-intervention cellar work, and an increasing emphasis on organic farming. Ojai Vineyard is widely recognized for crafting elegant, terroir-driven wines that combine California fruit with restraint and finesse.
