Made from Trebbiano grown on older vine material and crafted with a careful, low-intervention approach, it offers a rare mix of heritage, precision, and serious character.

In the glass, Bòggina B 2023 shows a deep golden straw colour that hints at its richness and depth. The nose is expressive and refined, with ripe peach, orange blossom, white flowers, fresh herbs, and a subtle mineral note that adds tension and lift. On the palate, it is full-bodied yet elegant, balancing creamy texture with lively acidity and a precise, saline finish. The wine feels generous now, but it also has the structure and freshness to develop beautifully over the next few years if stored well.

Bòggina B comes from the Valdarno valley in Tuscany, where Petrolo is working to restore the region’s historic identity for white wines, especially Trebbiano. The vineyard material comes from older Trebbiano vines originally planted in the 1970s and replanted with the same clones to preserve the site’s character. Farming is organic, with grapes harvested by hand and carefully selected before vinification. Fermentation takes place with indigenous yeasts, followed by extended ageing sur lie in French oak tonneaux, with regular bâtonnage in the early stages to build complexity and texture. The wine is bottled with minimal filtration to retain its natural mineral expression.

This wine pairs beautifully with rich seafood dishes, roast chicken, creamy risottos, herb-roasted vegetables, and fresh or lightly aged cheeses. Serve it cool, ideally around 10–12°C, and consider a short decant if you want to open up its aromatics and texture.
