In the glass, Galatrona 2019 shows a deep, dark ruby-red color that hints at its concentration and richness. The nose is layered and expressive, with ripe red berries, vanilla, licorice, and subtle dark fruit notes unfolding with time in the glass. On the palate, it delivers exceptional power and density, balanced by polished, fully ripe tannins and a long, generous finish. The texture is velvety yet commanding, with remarkable depth and precision. While already impressive, this is a wine that will continue to develop beautifully over many years, especially in magnum, gaining even more nuance and complexity with bottle age.

Viininvalmistus
Galatrona comes from Petrolo’s estate in Tuscany, where the vineyards are farmed with a strong respect for nature and without the use of organic or inorganic fertilizers. Natural ground cover is encouraged, helping to preserve soil health, moisture, and balance in the vineyard. The result is fruit of outstanding concentration and purity, which is then crafted with a careful, minimal-intervention approach in the cellar to express the full character of Merlot in this exceptional Tuscan terroir.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This is a wine that calls for equally refined food, such as grilled ribeye, roasted lamb, venison, truffle dishes, or rich mushroom risotto. It also pairs beautifully with aged hard cheeses. Serve at 16–18°C, and consider decanting for 1–2 hours if opening young, as this will help reveal the wine’s full aromatic complexity and soften its structure.
