Pétrus 2009

In the glass, Pétrus 2009 shows a deep plum-purple core that hints at its remarkable concentration and richness. The nose is generous and layered, offering ripe mulberries, black cherries, subtle toast, licorice, and a floral lift that adds elegance to the power. On the palate, it is full-bodied and deeply textured, with silky tannins, plush dark fruit, and an almost seamless sense of volume and depth. The wine feels opulent yet beautifully controlled, with the kind of multidimensional mouthfeel that has made Pétrus legendary. Viininvalmistus
Pétrus comes from the right bank of Bordeaux in Pomerol, where its vineyards are shaped by a distinctive terroir and a climate well suited to Merlot. The estate is known for its old vines, including very mature Merlot plantings, and for meticulous hand work in the vineyard. Production is famously limited, and the winemaking is designed to preserve purity, concentration, and the silky structure that define the house style.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
Best enjoyed with refined dishes that can match its depth and luxury, such as roast lamb, beef tenderloin, truffle-infused dishes, duck breast, or aged hard cheeses. Serve at around 16–18°C. Decanting is recommended if opening young, though a mature bottle may only need a brief aeration to fully express its complexity.
