In the glass, this wine typically shows a deep garnet color with bright ruby highlights, hinting at both concentration and freshness. The nose is expected to be complex and lifted, with notes of ripe red cherry, plum, dried rose, and violet, followed by earthy nuances, spice, tobacco, and a subtle balsamic edge. On the palate, it should be powerful yet composed, with firm but polished tannins, vibrant acidity, and a long, persistent finish marked by fruit, savory depth, and mineral tension. As a Riserva from a strong vintage, it has excellent aging potential and should continue to evolve gracefully over many years, developing more tertiary notes of leather, truffle, and forest floor.

Vignaferrovia is a distinguished vineyard site at Pian delle Vigne, the Antinori estate in Montalcino, where the soils and exposure help shape a Brunello with precision, depth, and balance. The vineyard benefits from the classic Tuscan combination of altitude, good drainage, and a climate that allows Sangiovese to ripen slowly while preserving freshness and aromatic complexity. Harvesting is carried out by hand to ensure only the best fruit is selected, and vinification is designed to highlight the purity and structure of the grape, followed by extended maturation in oak to build complexity and allow the wine to reach Riserva level.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This Brunello Riserva is an excellent match for rich Tuscan dishes such as bistecca alla fiorentina, slow-braised beef, wild boar ragù, and porcini risotto, as well as aged Pecorino and hard Italian cheeses. Serve it at around 16–18°C, and consider decanting for at least 1–2 hours if drinking young, so the aromas can open fully and the tannins can soften.
