Pico Maccario Barbaresco DOCG 2020 is a refined expression of Piedmont’s most celebrated terroir, offering remarkable complexity and an elegantly structured profile. Hand-harvested and carefully sorted to ensure only the best grapes are used, it reflects the classic character of Barbaresco with a polished, modern finesse.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, this Barbaresco shows a graceful, ruby-red color with the brightness expected of a well-made Nebbiolo. The nose is fresh and expressive, unfolding with red cherry, raspberry, floral perfume, and subtle spice. On the palate, it is layered and poised, balancing ripe red fruit with warm spice and a fine, feminine tannic structure. The traditional vinification and time in Slovenian oak add depth without overpowering the wine’s elegance. While already highly appealing, it should continue to develop beautifully over the next several years.

Viininvalmistus
Produced in Piemonte, this wine comes from a region known for its limestone and clay-rich soils, which help shape the precision and elegance typical of Barbaresco. The grapes are harvested by hand and sorted carefully before undergoing traditional vinification for at least 15 days. After fermentation, the wine is matured in Slovenian oak casks for 9–10 months, then rested in bottle for a full year before release.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This Barbaresco pairs beautifully with braised beef, roasted game, mushroom risotto, truffle dishes, and aged hard cheeses. Serve it at 16–18°C, and consider decanting for about 30–60 minutes to allow the aromatics and tannins to open fully.
