Quilceda Creek Cabernet Sauvignon 2006

Quilceda Creek Cabernet Sauvignon 2006 is a benchmark Washington Cabernet, showcasing the power, precision, and polish that have made the estate one of the state’s most respected names. Crafted entirely from Cabernet Sauvignon and sourced largely from the legendary Champoux Vineyard, this is a serious, age-worthy wine that reflects both exceptional fruit and meticulous winemaking.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, it pours a deep, nearly black ruby color that immediately signals concentration and depth. The nose is layered and expressive, with intense aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry, and dark cherry lifted by notes of black truffle, violet, pencil lead, dark chocolate, and sweet pipe tobacco. The palate is full-bodied, rich, and beautifully structured, with powerful dark fruit wrapped in fine-grained tannins and integrated oak spice. Despite its intensity, the wine remains remarkably harmonious and silky, finishing long, elegant, and persistent. While already impressive, this is a Cabernet with excellent aging potential and will continue to develop complexity for many years in the cellar.

Viininvalmistus
This wine comes from the acclaimed Horse Heaven Hills AVA in Washington, where warm days, cool evenings, and well-drained soils create ideal conditions for Cabernet Sauvignon. About 90% of the fruit comes from Champoux Vineyard and the remaining 10% from Mach One Vineyards, both highly regarded sites known for producing concentrated, characterful grapes. The harvest is done entirely by hand, and after careful selection the wine undergoes gentle fermentation before maturing for 20 months in 100% new French oak barrels.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
Best enjoyed with richly flavored dishes such as grilled ribeye, roast lamb, venison, braised short ribs, or aged hard cheeses. Serve at around 16–18°C, and consider decanting for at least 1–2 hours to allow the wine to open fully and soften its structure. With age, its complexity will continue to deepen beautifully.
