Quilceda Creek Cabernet Sauvignon 2011 is a benchmark Washington Cabernet that shows just how powerful and refined the region can be. Crafted entirely from Cabernet Sauvignon and sourced from two of the most respected vineyards in the Columbia Valley, it combines intensity, precision, and remarkable harmony in a style that has made Quilceda Creek one of America’s most celebrated producers.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, the wine is deep and nearly inky, hinting at its concentration and structure. The nose is richly layered with blackcurrant, blackberry, and dark cherry, lifted by notes of black truffle, violets, pencil shavings, dark chocolate, and sweet pipe tobacco. The palate is full-bodied, dense, and beautifully polished, with ripe dark fruit woven seamlessly into fine-grained oak spice and firm but elegant tannins. Despite its generosity, the wine remains focused and balanced, finishing with impressive length and finesse. It already offers plenty of pleasure, but its structure suggests it will continue to evolve gracefully for many years to come.

Viininvalmistus
This wine comes from the highly regarded Horse Heaven Hills AVA in Washington, with 90% of the fruit from Champoux Vineyard and the remaining 10% from Mach One Vineyard. These sites are prized for their warm climate, excellent exposure, and well-drained soils, all of which are ideally suited to Cabernet Sauvignon. The grapes are hand-harvested, carefully selected, and gently fermented before aging for 20 months in 100% new French oak barrels, a regimen that adds depth, structure, and refined spice without overpowering the fruit.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
Best served with richly flavored dishes such as grilled ribeye, roast lamb, braised short ribs, or game with mushroom-based sauces. It also pairs beautifully with aged hard cheeses. Serve at around 16-18°C, and decanting for 1-2 hours is recommended if drinking now to help the wine open fully.
