Quilceda Creek Cabernet Sauvignon 2014 is a standout Washington red that shows just how far Cabernet can go in the state’s best sites. Crafted entirely from Cabernet Sauvignon, with fruit sourced from the acclaimed Champoux Vineyard and Mach One Vineyards in the Horse Heaven Hills AVA, it combines power, precision, and remarkable balance. Quilceda Creek has built its reputation on uncompromising quality, and this vintage is a clear example of why the estate is regarded as one of Washington’s finest.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, the wine is deep and almost opaque, with a dark, brooding color that hints at its concentration. The nose is immediately expressive, layered with blackcurrant, blackberry, and dark cherry, lifted by notes of violets, black truffle, pencil shavings, dark chocolate, and sweet pipe tobacco. On the palate, it is full-bodied and intensely structured, yet remarkably silky and composed. The dark fruit core is framed by polished tannins, refined oak spice, and a long, elegant finish that keeps unfolding with each sip. While already impressive in youth, this Cabernet has the concentration and balance to develop beautifully over a decade or more.

Viininvalmistus
The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon is made entirely from fruit grown in the Horse Heaven Hills AVA, where warm days, cool evenings, and well-drained soils create ideal conditions for ripening Cabernet Sauvignon with depth and structure. The blend is dominated by fruit from Champoux Vineyard, with a smaller portion from Mach One Vineyards, both of which are highly regarded for producing premium Washington Cabernet. Harvest is done by hand, with only the best fruit selected, followed by a gentle fermentation and 20 months of aging in 100% new French oak to build complexity, structure, and aromatic finesse.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This Cabernet Sauvignon pairs beautifully with prime rib, grilled ribeye, lamb chops, venison, or slow-braised short ribs, as well as aged hard cheeses. Serve at 16–18°C. Decant for at least one to two hours if opening now, especially to let the wine’s aromas and tannins fully open.
