Quilceda Creek Cabernet Sauvignon 2020

Quilceda Creek Cabernet Sauvignon 2020 is a benchmark Washington Cabernet from one of the region’s most acclaimed producers. Made entirely from Cabernet Sauvignon, with fruit sourced mainly from the legendary Champoux Vineyard in Horse Heaven Hills, it combines power, precision, and remarkable finesse in a style that has made Quilceda Creek a reference point for serious collectors.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, the wine shows a deep, nearly inky colour that signals its concentration and depth. The nose is layered and compelling, with blackcurrant, blackberry, and dark cherry lifted by notes of violets, black truffle, pencil shavings, dark chocolate, and sweet pipe tobacco. The palate is full-bodied, richly textured, and seamlessly balanced, with dense dark fruit wrapped in polished tannins and refined oak spice. Despite its youthful intensity, the wine already feels composed and harmonious, while its structure suggests outstanding aging potential over the next decade or more.

Viininvalmistus
The Cabernet Sauvignon grapes come predominantly from Champoux Vineyard, with a smaller portion from Mach One Vineyards, both located in the Horse Heaven Hills AVA, where warm conditions and well-drained soils are especially well suited to premium Cabernet. Fruit is hand-harvested to ensure only the best grapes make it to the cellar, where the wine is gently fermented before spending 20 months in 100% new French oak barrels to build structure, depth, and complexity.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This is a natural match for grilled ribeye, roasted lamb, beef tenderloin, venison, or rich dishes with mushroom and truffle accents. Serve at around 16–18°C. Decanting for 1–2 hours is recommended if opening young, especially if you want to allow the wine’s aromatic layers and fine tannins to open fully.
