Quilceda Creek CVR Red 2013

Quilceda Creek CVR Red 2013 is a powerful yet refined Cabernet Sauvignon-based red from Washington State, crafted with the winery’s trademark attention to detail and pursuit of excellence. The CVR name nods to both “C’est Vin Rouge” and “Columbia Valley Red,” capturing the wine’s French-inspired style and its deep roots in one of America’s most exciting wine regions.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, this wine shows a deep, concentrated ruby to garnet hue that hints at its richness and structure. The nose opens with layered aromas of dark berries, blackcurrant, plum, and subtle earthy-mineral notes, framed by the nuanced influence of French oak. On the palate, it is full-bodied and densely textured, with ripe black fruit, berry compote, and a touch of spice unfolding over a polished frame of firm tannins. There is impressive depth and focus, balanced by a mineral streak and a long, persistent finish. While already enjoyable, it has the structure and balance to develop beautifully with additional bottle age.

Viininvalmistus
The CVR Red draws on fruit from highly regarded Columbia Valley vineyard sites in Washington, where warm, sunny conditions and well-drained soils help Cabernet Sauvignon achieve full ripeness while preserving freshness and definition. The wine is built in a Bordeaux-inspired style, with Cabernet Sauvignon as the dominant grape. After harvest, it is aged for 20 months in 100% French oak barrels, adding complexity, texture, and aromatic lift while supporting the wine’s natural concentration.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This is an excellent partner for rich, savory dishes such as grilled steak, roast beef, lamb, venison, and other game meats. Serve at around 16–18°C for the best balance of fruit, structure, and oak complexity. Decanting for 1–2 hours is recommended, especially in its youth, to help the wine open up fully.
