Realm Beckstoffer Dr. Crane 2022

Realm’s Beckstoffer Dr. Crane 2022 is a striking single-vineyard Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon blend that shows just how expressive top-tier St. Helena fruit can be. Crafted by winemaker Benoit Touguette from one of Andy Beckstoffer’s most celebrated sites, it combines pedigree, precision, and serious aging potential in a wine built for the long haul. The Dr. Crane vineyard, first planted in 1858, carries real historic weight and remains one of Napa’s benchmark vineyard sources.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, this is a deeply colored, full-bodied red with a dark, saturated core. The nose is generous and layered, offering blackberry liqueur, chocolate, fresh tobacco, tar, and warm spice. On the palate, it is rich and intense, repeating many of the aromatics while adding notes of licorice, pencil lead, and crushed stone. The 95% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Petit Verdot blend gives the wine structure, depth, and lift, and while it is impressive now, it is clearly built to evolve beautifully over the next several years and beyond. If you can wait 2–3 years, it should reward patience with even greater complexity.

Viininvalmistus
The fruit comes from the historic Dr. Crane vineyard in St. Helena, one of Napa Valley’s most respected sites and part of the Beckstoffer portfolio of elite vineyards. Though detailed vineyard and cellar information is limited here, the wine is made from 95% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Petit Verdot, suggesting a classic Bordeaux-inspired approach focused on structure, concentration, and long aging potential.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
Best enjoyed with richly flavored dishes such as grilled ribeye, slow-braised short ribs, lamb, or dishes with truffle, mushrooms, or black garlic. Serve at 16–18°C and consider decanting for at least 1–2 hours, especially if opening young, to allow the wine’s aromatic layers and structure to fully open.
