Realm Farella 2019

Realm Farella 2019 is a compelling single-vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon from Coombsville AVA in the southeastern corner of Napa Valley, an area prized for its cooler climate and volcanic soils. With a small addition of Merlot for the first time in this cuvée, it brings extra breadth and nuance to a wine that captures both power and freshness in a distinctly Napa Valley style.

In the glass, the wine shows a deep garnet color that hints at its concentration and depth. The nose opens with baked plums, ripe blackberries, and cassis pastilles, layered with notes of black olives, lavender, cinnamon, and a subtle earthy undertone. On the palate, it is full-bodied and highly concentrated, with ripe, grainy tannins and a vivid line of freshness that carries the wine through a long, energetic finish. This is a wine built for the cellar, with the structure and balance to develop beautifully over time. The combination of dark fruit, savory complexity, and firm tannins suggests strong aging potential, allowing the wine to gain further nuance with several years of bottle age.

Realm Farella comes from the Coombsville AVA, where cooler temperatures and volcanic, rock-strewn soils help preserve freshness while adding mineral complexity. The fruit is sourced primarily from the elevated "rockpile" block, a stony, well-exposed site that receives excellent sunlight and encourages concentrated, evenly ripened grapes. The wine is made from 92% Cabernet Sauvignon and 8% Merlot, reflecting a thoughtful blending approach that adds dimension to the final cuvée, though further vinification details are not provided.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This Cabernet Sauvignon pairs well with richly flavored dishes such as grilled ribeye, braised short ribs, lamb chops, roast duck, or mushroom risotto.
