Realm Houyi Vineyard 2022 is a striking single-vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon from Pritchard Hill, crafted from fruit grown high above the fog line on volcanic soils. Sourced from one of Napa Valley’s most coveted sites, it combines mountain intensity, precision, and depth in a style that speaks to both power and finesse. The vineyard’s pedigree was further confirmed when Realm was steered toward Houyi by respected Napa names Brad Grimes and Sam Kaplan, making this a wine with both rare origin and serious reputation.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, this is a dark, deeply colored Cabernet with the kind of concentration you’d expect from a high-elevation mountain site. The nose opens with layers of blueberry, plum, pencil lead, lavender, elderflower, and a touch of cracked pepper, building complexity with air. The palate is broad and powerful, unfolding with dark cherry, boysenberry, chocolate, mocha, grilled spices, and a fresh leather note that adds savory depth. Rich yet detailed, it has the structure and balance to age beautifully for two decades or more, gaining even more nuance with time in bottle.

Viininvalmistus
Houyi Vineyard sits on the volcanic slopes of Pritchard Hill at roughly 500 meters above sea level, where morning sun and cooler temperatures help preserve freshness while fully ripening Cabernet Sauvignon. The vines are rooted deep in volcanic subsoil and grow above the fog line, giving the fruit a distinctive mountain profile and natural concentration. Winemaker Benoit Touquette typically raises the wine in up to 85% new French oak, shaping the wine with added polish, spice, and structure.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This is a wine built for rich, flavorful dishes such as prime rib, ribeye steak, braised short ribs, venison, or truffle-infused mushroom dishes. It also pairs well with aged hard cheeses. Serve at 16–18°C and decant for at least 1–2 hours, especially if opening young, to allow the wine’s layers of fruit, oak, and spice to fully unfold.
