Realm The Tempest 2022

Realm The Tempest 2022 is a polished, Merlot-led Napa Valley red that shows both power and finesse. Built from 67% Merlot, 23% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Cabernet Franc, it draws fruit from select parcels across Blair, Orchard, Farella and Fortuna, alongside Realm’s own Estate Vineyard in Stags Leap District. The wine reflects the precision of a challenging vintage and the estate’s exacting standards, with impressive critical acclaim to match.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, The Tempest 2022 pours a deep garnet hue. The bouquet opens with black raspberry, mulberry and kirsch, layered with lifted notes of lavender, wild sage and a hint of anise. On the palate, it is medium to full-bodied, delivering bright, generous fruit framed by firm, fine-grained tannins and a long, peppery finish. The wine has the structure and freshness to age gracefully, and it is best enjoyed from 2025 through 2040.

The fruit for The Tempest 2022 comes from carefully selected parcels in Napa Valley, including sites in Blair, Orchard, Farella and Fortuna, as well as Realm’s Estate Vineyard in the Stags Leap District. The 2022 season brought a late-September heatwave, prompting rigorous vineyard selection and up to 30% crop sorting to preserve quality. Vinification relied on cool fermentations and gentle extraction to protect freshness, balance and aromatic detail.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This is an excellent partner for grilled lamb, roast duck, beef tenderloin, braised short ribs or mushroom-based dishes with earthy depth. Serve at around 16–18°C. Decanting for 1–2 hours is recommended if drinking young to help the wine open fully and soften its tannins.
