Made by winemaker Jeff Brinkman with a hands-off approach that includes whole-cluster fermentation, barrel fermentation, and final maturation in stainless steel, it delivers impressive richness without losing freshness, detail, or personality. The result is a wine that feels both generous and distinctly original, with a style that reflects the pedigree of Bearwallow Vineyard and the precision for which Rhys is known.

In the glass, this Chardonnay shows a luminous, polished appearance that hints at its richness. The nose is generous and layered, offering pear, apple, lemon oil, white flowers, orange peel, mandarin, and a subtle thread of exotic spice. On the palate, it is intense and well balanced, with flavors of citrus, orchard fruit, and elderflower framed by a pronounced mineral edge and a long, impressive finish. Despite its depth and breadth, the wine remains lively and composed, with enough structure and brightness to suggest excellent development over time. It already shows charm and complexity, but can continue to evolve gracefully, gaining additional nuance with short- to medium-term cellaring.

Rhys works this site to highlight its expressive fruit and natural energy, using whole clusters in fermentation and allowing the wine to ferment in barrel before being finished with aging in stainless steel, a choice that preserves freshness while building texture and complexity. The approach is deliberately minimalist, allowing vineyard character to take center stage.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This Chardonnay pairs beautifully with roast chicken, lobster, seared scallops, crab, creamy pasta dishes, and grilled fish with lemon or herb butter. It also works well with soft cheeses and dishes featuring mild spice or earthy mushrooms. Serve chilled at around 10–12°C, and decanting is not necessary, though a little time in the glass will help reveal its aromatic complexity.
