Rombauer Merlot 2019

Rombauer Merlot 2019 is a rich, velvety Napa Valley red that shows just how expressive Merlot can be when it comes from top sites and is handled with real care. Crafted by winemaker Richie Allen from a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Petit Verdot, it delivers depth, polish, and a plush style that reflects Rombauer’s signature Napa richness.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, this wine leans deep and inviting, with the kind of dark, concentrated color you’d expect from a serious Napa red. The nose is generous and layered, offering ripe black plum, black tea, mint, fresh tart crust, and a touch of vanilla. On the palate, it’s full-bodied yet remarkably smooth, with black cherry, blueberry, dark chocolate, vanilla, and subtle spice unfolding in a soft, rounded profile. The oak is well integrated and adds structure without overshadowing the fruit. While it is already delicious now, it also has the concentration and balance to develop nicely over time.

Viininvalmistus
The wine is sourced from some of the best vineyards in Napa Valley, where warm California sunshine helps produce ripe, concentrated fruit with great depth. After pressing and fermentation, the wine matures for 15 months in French oak barrels, including 40% new oak, which adds structure, spice, and a polished finish to the final blend.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This Merlot pairs beautifully with grilled ribeye, roast lamb, braised short ribs, mushroom dishes, and rich pasta with meat sauce. Serve it at around 16–18°C for the best expression of its fruit and oak. Decanting for 30–60 minutes is recommended, especially if served young, to let the wine open fully.
