Rombauer Proprietor Selection Chardonnay 2021

Rombauer’s Proprietor Selection Chardonnay is a benchmark for rich, expressive California Chardonnay, crafted only in exceptional vintages from the winery’s best barrels. Produced in limited quantities, it showcases the concentration, balance, and signature generosity that have made Rombauer one of the most admired names in Carneros Chardonnay.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, the wine shows a bright, pale yellow color that hints at its freshness and intensity. The nose is layered and inviting, with aromas of caramelized pineapple, lemon zest, baked green apple, toast, and vanilla. On the palate, it is dense and concentrated, offering powerful stone fruit, floral honey, and creamy vanilla supported by a lively, refreshing acidity. The finish is long, polished, and deeply satisfying, with enough structure to drink beautifully now and the potential to age gracefully for a few years in the cellar.

Viininvalmistus
This Chardonnay comes from Carneros, one of California’s coolest and most respected regions for the variety, where the maritime climate and clay-rich soils help preserve acidity and build texture. The Proprietor Selection is assembled from the finest lots and barrels in exceptional years, then matured for nine months in French and American oak, 45% of which is new, to add depth, spice, and the wine’s signature creamy complexity.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This wine pairs beautifully with roast chicken, lobster, seared scallops, creamy pasta dishes, and rich poultry or vegetable dishes with butter or herb sauces. Serve chilled at around 10–12°C; decanting is generally not necessary, though a short airing can help open up its layered aromas if served young.
