Sheridan Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2018

Sheridan Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2018 is a classic, beautifully made Washington Cabernet that delivers serious quality at a remarkably fair price. Crafted by self-taught winemaker Scott Greer from estate-grown fruit in Yakima Valley, it combines concentration, purity, and a distinctly polished Bordeaux-inspired style. The wine has earned strong praise from major critics, and its reputation continues to punch well above its price point.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, it shows a deep ruby-red colour that hints at the wine’s depth and ripeness. The nose opens with generous aromas of blackcurrant, raspberry, and blackberry compote, layered with cedar, thyme, and a subtle floral lift of lavender. On the palate, this is full-bodied and rounded, with flavours of blueberry, cassis, and red currant unfolding over hints of vanilla and cedar from oak ageing. The finish is long and impressive, with enough structure to suggest very good ageing potential over the coming years, while still offering plenty of pleasure now.

Viininvalmistus
The grapes come from 20-year-old vines rooted in Sheridan Vineyard’s own hillside site in Yakima Valley, Washington, an area known for warm, sunny growing conditions and excellent Cabernet Sauvignon ripeness. Scott Greer works with a strong focus on sustainability throughout the production, and the wine is aged for 17 months in one-year-old French oak barrels, allowing the fruit to remain front and center while gaining subtle oak complexity.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This Cabernet Sauvignon is a natural partner for grilled ribeye, roast lamb, braised short ribs, or hearty dishes with mushrooms and herbs. It also works well with aged hard cheeses. Serve at around 16–18°C, and decant for about 30 to 60 minutes if enjoyed young to let the aromas and structure fully open up.
