Sheridan Vineyard Mystique 2018 is a polished, Bordeaux-inspired red blend from Washington State that overdelivers on both character and value. Crafted from Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Merlot, it offers the depth and structure you’d expect from a serious blend, but with a riper, more generous fruit profile that reflects Sheridan’s Yakima Valley origins. It’s a wine that has earned a loyal following year after year, and for good reason.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, Mystique shows a deep ruby-red color. The nose is immediately expressive, with layers of blackberry, blackcurrant, and blueberry lifted by mocha, chocolate, dried spices, and a hint of vanilla from oak aging. The palate is full-bodied and elegant, with a rounded texture and a core of black and blue fruit taking center stage. French oak adds polish and subtle spice without overpowering the fruit, while the finish is long, supple, and memorable. This is a wine with plenty of immediate appeal, yet it should continue to develop well over the next 8–10 years.

Viininvalmistus
The grapes come from Sheridan Vineyard’s own sites in Yakima Valley, Washington, where the warm, dry climate helps Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Merlot achieve full ripeness and expressive flavor. Winemaker Scott Greer ages the wine for 17 months in one-year-old oak barrels, a choice that supports the fruit while adding texture, spice, and complexity. The result is a balanced, fruit-forward blend with clear Bordeaux inspiration but a distinctly Washington sense of generosity.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This is an excellent match for grilled ribeye, roast lamb, braised short ribs, beef tenderloin, or mushroom-based dishes with rich sauces. It also works beautifully with aged cheeses and herb-crusted game. Serve at 16–18°C, and consider decanting for 30–60 minutes if opening it young to let the aromatics and texture fully open up.
