Spottswoode Estate Cabernet Sauvignon 2017 is a beautifully composed Napa Valley red from one of California’s most respected estates. Made from organically certified vineyard fruit and led by Cabernet Sauvignon with supporting Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, it offers both immediate appeal and the structure to age gracefully for years to come.

In the glass, it shows a deep, dark ruby color that hints at its concentration and depth. The nose opens with layered aromas of blackcurrant, blueberry, cedar, tobacco, and a touch of spice, creating a classic and highly expressive Napa Cabernet profile. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and harmonious, with elegant tannins, vibrant acidity, and a long, nuanced finish. The French oak aging adds polish and complexity without overpowering the fruit, and the 2017 vintage has the balance and backbone to reward further cellaring.

This wine comes from Spottswoode’s organically certified estate vineyards in Napa Valley, where the warm California climate and carefully farmed site contribute to ripe, concentrated fruit with natural freshness. The blend is composed of 89% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Cabernet Franc, and 4% Petit Verdot, and the wine was matured for 20 months in French oak barrels, 60% of which were new, adding depth, structure, and refined oak complexity.

Serve this Cabernet Sauvignon at around 16–18°C to best showcase its balance and aromatic detail. It pairs beautifully with grilled ribeye, roast lamb, braised short ribs, or aged hard cheeses, and decanting for 1–2 hours is recommended if drinking young to allow the wine to open fully.
