Spottswoode Lyndenhurst Cabernet Sauvignon 2019 offers a taste of the estate’s pedigree at a more approachable price, delivering impressive depth, balance, and elegance. Blended from Cabernet Sauvignon with supporting amounts of Merlot, Malbec, Petit Verdot, and Cabernet Franc, it reflects Spottswoode’s meticulous Cabernet expertise and long-standing reputation for crafting wines of exceptional quality. The Lyndenhurst name dates back to around 1900, when the property was known by that name in reference to the linden trees planted near the main house.

Makuprofiili
In the glass, the 2019 Lyndenhurst shows a deep ruby color that hints at its concentration and structure. The nose is layered and inviting, with aromas of blackcurrant, dark cherry, cedar, cocoa, and subtle spice, unfolding with a polished, Napa Valley character. The palate is full-bodied and beautifully balanced, with silky tannins, generous dark fruit, and a long, harmonious finish. The wine has excellent freshness and structure, making it enjoyable now while also offering strong aging potential over the coming years as its complexity continues to develop.

Viininvalmistus
Lyndenhurst 2019 is made primarily from Cabernet Sauvignon sourced from Spottswoode’s own vineyards, complemented by carefully selected parcels from across Napa Valley to enhance complexity and balance. The region’s warm days and cooling influences help build ripe fruit expression while preserving freshness, which is key to the wine’s elegant style. After fermentation, the wine is aged in a combination of French oak barrels, adding refinement, texture, and nuanced spice without overpowering the fruit.

Ruoka & tarjoilu
This Cabernet Sauvignon pairs wonderfully with grilled ribeye, roast lamb, braised short ribs, and hearty mushroom dishes, as well as aged hard cheeses. Serve at around 16–18°C for the best expression of its aromatics and structure. Decanting for 1–2 hours is recommended if opening now, especially to soften the tannins and allow the wine’s layered bouquet to open fully.
